What kind of Christmas songs do you prefer? Do you like the more pop-oriented ones (Mariah Carey, Wham, etc) or would you rather go bit more traditional in your holiday cheer (carols, maybe a bit of Bing)?

The Sun is out and about today
and all I really feel like doing is laying about
under mountains of blankets

- all while finishing "A Christmas Carol".

I was looking on Priceline at the prices for an international flight. I put in a couple of hypothetical dates, and if I bought a ticket to leave this weekend, it would cost $2,000. If I bought a ticket for the beginning of March right now, it would only cost $300.

So my question is: Aside from the obvious personal variables (buying a ticket so far in advance when you don't know what'll be going on that far off, and so on), are there any logistical disadvantages to buying that far in advance? I ask because it just seems like such a stark price difference that it makes me wonder if buying that far off would be a bad idea. I could just be making too big a deal out of it, though.

There's a game that seems to be popular at Christmas parties, where everyone brings a wrapped gift (of a preset, agreed upon value). Then numbers are drawn out of a hat and the person with the lowest number is the first to choose a gift, then the second lowest number chooses next and can keep his or her gift or force the person who chose first to trade. The third person chooses and can keep his gift or force one of the other two to trade with him, and so on, until all gifts are chosen and then the person who got the lowest number can choose any gift he/she wants and make that person trade.

Where I grew up, it was called a Yankee Swap. Around her I've heard it referred to as Dirty Santa and White Elephant. Have you ever played this game at a Christmas party? What did you call it?

Trying to be good to baby #2 and get at least a few pregnancy photos, I love this one with my daughter 'marching' in the background. I'm about 27 weeks along, have to admit laziness has gotten the best of me photo wise... when I'm not doing client shoots I tend to avoid it. It's kind of sad, actually. But hey - hi again, and happy holidays everyone!
